My kinda Vanity.

If you know me, you know I am low maintenance as far as manicures and pedicures go (I rather spend money on sneakers!). However, I have been dying to try Vanity Projects in the Lower East Side, and I finally did it. I usually categorize my sporty hands as stubby man hands, but my new VP mani makes me feel like I have princess hands! The prices of the manicures are a bit off putting, however I opted to get the affordable weekly special which was $40. The space is tucked away on Chrystie Street and located on the second level in a smaller space. I arrived 10 minutes early (I booked the first appointment of the day at 12pm), and as I was checked in, I was asked if I wanted any water, coffee, or tea. As I sipped on my green tea, I was able to take in the space. It was relaxing, but still had a hip vibe. There were projections of music videos on the wall, but crystals adorned the front desk and tables. They have displays of nail sets with art inspiration around the salon. Definitely not the average nail place! With the weekly special, the nail art is a set design but you are able to pick the colors. While you get your nails done, Frank Ocean is playing in the background along with the chatter of all different types of women. Vanity Projects also sold jewelry, candles, and other wellness items. At the end, they give you VP stickers! My only complaint is that the hand massage wasn’t that great (that is something that I always look forward to), but overall, Vanity Projects is known for their nail art and vibes! You can book an appointment with them through their website and check out their nail designs on IG: @vanityprojects
